Secondary Legal Sources

This guide highlights a variety of secondary sources which are extremely useful in legal research. A go-to list with books organized by topic.

Jury Instructions

Many states (including Wisconsin) and federal circuits have their own pattern or model jury instructions. These instructions are an aid and do not presume to be a legal treatise.  Jury instructions are on Reserve at the Law Library circulation desk; LexisNexis and Westlaw also provide electronic access to federal instructions, while Fast Case provides online access to Wisconsin Jury Instructions.
