Introduction
Employment law pertains to the employer / employee relationship and is governed by statutes, case law, and regulations at both the federal and the state level. Its scope also includes a wide range of legal issues such as discrimination, wrongful termination, unemployment compensation, and workplace safety.
Labor law covers the negotiation and collective bargaining process between employers and unionized employees. The National Labor Relations Board mediates disputes with these parties.
